Greiche & Scaff is a proud partner of the University of Montreal School of Optometry.

Greiche & Scaff supports the future optometry professionals by donating to the University of Montreal School of Optometry to improve its education framework.

In 2010, donations went to modernizing the School of Optometry’s Greiche & Scaff preclinical teaching laboratory. A 12th work station was added for students, and updates made to the televisual and computer equipment, furniture and remainder of the lab.

Optometrists Without Borders

Optometrists Without Borders is a project designed to offer free optometry care and visual health advice to vulnerable populations in developing countries and support the development of skills locally.

The field activities of Optometrists Without Borders consist and include performing eye exams, donating recycled eyeglasses (corrective lenses and sun lenses) and promoting good visual hygiene.

Greiche & Scaff supports Optometrists Without Borders by providing a box for recycled frames in all Greiche & Scaff locations. Every month, Greiche & Scaff sends the recovered frames to the association. Think about us next time you’re discarding a pair of old glasses!

Greiche & Scaff also supports Optometrists Without Borders financially. Its actions highlight the importance the profession and industry give to the visual health of disadvantaged people in developing countries. In this sense, the actions of Optometrists Without Borders and its partners are directly linked to the vision of the World Health Organization (WHO), which has identified the elimination of refractive errors and low vision as a top priority in the fight against ocular disease.
