Taking Care of Your Glasses

For many, glasses are an accessory they can’t do without. One reason, quite simply, is that without them they wouldn’t be able to see. But another important reason is that they have become an intrinsic part of the person’s look and very personality. Naturally, these important accessories must be taken care of.

Here are a few brief rules to follow when caring for your glasses:

  • Put on and remove your glasses with both hands: You’ll avoid damaging the temples and hinges.
  • When you put your glasses on a table, put them temple-down. If you place them lens-down, they may get scratched.
  • Clean your lenses regularly with products designed for the purpose. And don’t hesitate to ask advice from a Greiche & Scaff professional: We have a whole range of eyeglasses-care products in our stores.
  • If you have organic lenses on your frames, never clean them when they’re dry because dust can scratch them. Before being rubbed, organic lenses must be moistened.
  • Never use alcohol-based products because they deteriorate the plastic on frames.
  • Avoid corrosive or ammonia-based products because they can scratch lenses and tarnish frames.
  • You can wipe your lenses with a microfiber cloth, but make sure it’s cleaned regularly.
  • We advise you to keep your glasses in a case to protect them from impact and dust.
