Taking Care of Contact Lenses

Taking care of your contact lenses is very simple and, best of all, very quick. With the right product, you can do all of the following:

  • Disinfect your lenses to reduce germs and risk of infection.
  • Degrease your lenses.
  • Remove any calcium and proteins that might be adhering to them.

It’s easy! Simply soak your lenses in the care product. This will clean them and lubricate them, making them easier to put in, and keep in for several days. The number of days will depend on their wear type; follow your optometrist’s instructions.

Care of hard lenses

  • Let them soak in the product for the recommended time (usually overnight).
  • Before putting them in, rinse the lenses with the product (not tap water!) and empty the case’s liquid content.
  • We advise you to change the case regularly: with every purchase of a new bottle of lens-care product, for instance.
  • Only use recommended products for hard lenses.
  • When you clean your lenses, massage them gently and rinse them with a saline solution.

Care of soft lenses:

  • Daily-wear lenses : These lenses are discarded every night so they don’t require any care. You may need a rinsing product, however, if you put a lens in backward or simply need to rid them of dust.
  • Lenses renewed every 15 or 30 days : Use a multifunction or oxidant product. Place the lenses in a case containing the product. This will cleanse them of impurities, fats and proteins and lubricate them at the same time. You can also keep them there for several days, which is practical if you only wear them occasionally.
